Everyone has a story to tell, yet 99% of our stories go with us to the grave.
This creates a monumental drain of human knowledge and human capital in a world that can scarcely afford to lose it.
StoryQ changes that fate.
To paraphrase an African proverb: “When a person dies, a library burns down.” StoryQ not only captures your story; our questions help you make sense of it.
Through personally-crafted, evidence-based methodology and professionally-filmed interviews, StoryQ helps you connect the dots of your life— revisit meaningful moments, take inventory, make sense of where you are, consider the impact you want to make and re-focus for the chapter ahead.
“Storytelling shouldn’t be daunting, or anxiety-provoking. It should be akin to the feeling when your grandkid says:
Hey Grandma, Tell me a story.”

Of course you do.
And your people value it more than a priceless heirloom. Whether it’s memories of your parents, your childhood favorite stories, precious moments when the kids were younger, or your own life’s lessons learned, your insight, memories and wisdom are valuable and we’re here to help you capture it. -
Your interview will be custom tailored for you, but you can expect Q's like:
What is a day or event you’d like to live over again and why?
What do you consider to be your greatest professional and/or personal achievement?
If you had one bit of advice that you could pass on to your children and/or the next generation, what would it be?
Yes, you can get a list of Q's in advance, but we recommend instead just getting a heads up on the areas to be discussed so that you are thoughtful and not rehearsed. You can redo any question you wish. You are in complete control of this process.

Beyond the interviewer and the editor who are bound by our Confidentiality Guarantee, you are in complete control of the footage. The interviewer is not a journalist, but more of a guide to help you find your story.
As for honesty, again, this is first for you and only you. If you wish to discuss elements that you don’t want others to hear/see, you can choose what stays in and what is taken out as well as when your story is shared.
-
It’s always possible, but you have probably survived much worse! And, that’s the beauty of the edit process.

Because people are fearful of telling their own story and because they fear coming up short, not being articulate, not being profound, seeming self centered. They would rather have others tell their stories. However, as with all slightly scary things that sometimes push us out of our comfort zones, we feel pretty incredible after we’ve done it. And relieved.
